CGWA was constituted with prime objective to regulate and control , management & development of Ground Water in the country and to issue necessary regulatory directions for this purpose. Besides, CGWA also acts for ensuring sustainability of ground water both in terms of quantity and quality as well as focus on management of ground water resources. CGWA had issued guidelines for evaluation of proposals and request for NOC for ground water abstraction for ensuring effective monitoring of ground water withdrawal for various purposes including domestic use, industrial use, infrastructure utilization etc. In order to ensure effective implementation of CGWA guidelines, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) directed all State Pollution Control Boards to ensure prior NOC/ Permission of CGWA while issuing Consent to Establish or Consent to Operate under the provisions of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.

CGWA had made amendment and modifications in its Guidelines from time to time based upon factual and technical data regarding quality, quantity & utilization of ground water for ensuring its conservation and sustainability. As per the CGWA Guidelines, effective from November 2012, it was clarified as under:

• Industries/ infrastructure projects desirous of extracting ground water up to 100 KLD in safe Areas will be exempted from obtaining NOC from CGWA.
• This exemption was not made applicable for water based industries like packaged drinking water units, mineral water industries, distilleries, Breweries, soft drinks manufacturing industries, textiles, pulp & paper etc.
• No application for NOC to be entertained without proper referral letter from the statutory authority (Central / State Government Departments or State Pollution Control Boards)
• Industrial treated water not to be used for recharge of ground water as it may contain heavy metals and other toxic elements.
• Artificial recharge proposals to be vetted by competent authority.
• NOC for ground water extraction to be issued only in non-notified areas for the limited period and provisions for renewal.

2. Village/ Regional / Urban Planning

National River action plan (NRAP) is a program funded by the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Govt. of India for conservation and environmental improvement of rivers flowing through identified towns. This project involves report prepared for abatement of pollution and of environmental improvement for Rajgarh , Maheshwar and Mandelshwar town on the banks of River Narmada with respect to Urban Services (Solid waste, sewerage, water supply, sanitation, water shed) by conducting door to door House hold survey

Description of Actual Services being provided by the firm: Detailed study comprises of socio-economic survey, urban services survey, reconnaissance visit, & data collection, up gradation of data and making of its MIS report. 4. Slum Free City Plan

MPUSP, Burhanpur & Khandwa The Project is regarding the "Preparation of GIS Base Maps and Multipurpose household survey (MPHS) for city of Burhanpur & Khandwa, M.P. The key features including survey of slums and properties based on latest technology such as using DGPS & multipurpose household survey which will provide complete coverage of properties, taxes under municipal law of all household covering all service level like Solid waste, sewerage, water supply & Sanitation.

The Project is funded by Department for International Development ( DFID), UK via MPUSP Programme

Actual Services: Baseline survey, training of revenue and social surveyor & slum household survey, property survey, montioning , property ownership, land use, plinth area, basic amenities, services utilities viz. water supply, sewerage, sanitation, solid waste, drainage , linkage of survey data to MIS System & GIS System and finally to prepare Geo-referenced Base Map.
